J. Michael Ozier

Mike retired in early 2016 and is no longer practicing law; however, he lives in Montana half of the year and consults with Tolliver Law Firm on a variety of matters. Mike’s practice, most of which as a trial lawyer, spanned a period of four decades. While most of his experience was concentrated in financial, employment, and construction litigation, Mike’s practice touched on nearly all types of civil litigation. In addition, Mike advised major financial entities and retailers on internal and regulatory matters.

Mike is a magna cum laude graduate of Indiana University School of Law in Bloomington, Indiana, where he served on the Law Journal staff and was awarded the Order of the Coif. Prior to law school, Mike obtained his undergraduate degree from Eastern Illinois University, and subsequently spent six years as an officer in the U.S. Navy, with most of that time on a fast attack nuclear submarine.

Before joining the Tolliver Law Firm in Billings, Montana, Mike was successively an equity partner in two large law firms in central Ohio, and a senior executive with Chase Bank. Mike represented commercial clients in cases arising in the courts of 17 different states and a number of federal districts.
